On February 16th, the Hellenic Relief Foundation and their partner organization in Athens ΕΛΕΘΣΥ conducted their monthly distribution at their Athens headquarters, in partnership with the Social Committee of the Athenian Society. The packages contained pasta, rice, flour, oil, barley, milk, and more. Around 135 packages were distributed, primarily to underprivileged families and individual beneficiaries.
In addition to the basic food items, the monthly packages were enriched with vegetables like green beans, peas, and spinach – complements of Barba Stathis – and butter provided by Ariston, among others. The distribution took place under the guidance of Ms. Maria Siourdi, accompanied by volunteers Emy Spanou, Antonia Pantouvaki, Yannis Lambrou, and Fotis Panagiotakopoulos.
Corporate sponsors for this distribution, and others past, included the N. Konstantopoulou Group, Agrovim, the Social Committee of the Athenian Society, Food Bank, Loulis Mills, Barba-Stathis, Alpiland, and others.
A few weeks earlier across the Atlantic, members of the Board of Directors of the H.R.F gathered together in Astoria in New York for the traditional cutting of the vasilopita. The traditional coin ended up being found in the piece cut for the organization. With this good luck bestowed upon the organization, the HRF – and in turn their partner organization ΕΛΕΘΣΥ, look forward to another prosperous year supporting those most in need in Greece.

Στις 16 Φεβρουαρίου πραγματοποιήθηκε η καθιερωμένη διανομή τροφίμων από το Hellenic Relief Foundation και την Ελληνική Εθελοντική Συμπαράσταση στις εγκαταστάσεις τους στην Αθήνα σε συνεργασία με το Κοινωνικό Παράρτημα του Συλλόγου των Αθηναίων. Τα πακέτα περιείχαν ζυμαρικά, ρύζι, αλεύρι, κριθαράκι, λάδι, γάλα κ.α. και δόθηκαν κατ επιλογή σε αδύναμες οικονομικά οικογένειες και τα μοναχικά άτομα που υποστηρίζονται. Συνολικά δόθηκαν περίπου 135 δέματα τροφίμων.
Η διανομή εκτός από τα βασικά τρόφιμα εμπλουτίστηκε με λαχανικά Μπάρμπα Στάθης (φασολάκια, αρακά, σπανάκι), βούτυρο ΑΡΙΣΤΟΝ κ.α. υπό τις οδηγίες της υπεύθυνης της ΕΛΕΘΣΥ κ. Μαρίας Σιούρδη και των εθελοντριών Εμης Σπανού, Αντωνίας Παντουβάκη, Γιάννη Λάμπρου και Φώτη Παναγιωτακόπουλου.
Χορηγοί μας επιπλέον και για αυτό το μήνα ο Όμιλος Ν. Κωνσταντόπουλου, η Αγροβίμ, το Κοινωνικό Παράρτημα του Συλλόγου των Αθηναίων, η Τράπεζα Τροφίμων, οι Μύλοι Λούλη, η εταιρεία Μπάρμπα-Στάθης, η Alpiland, κ.α.
Λίγες εβδομάδες πριν, στην άλλη πλευρά του Ατλαντικού, μέλη του Διοικητικό Συμβούλιο του H.R.F. παραβρέθηκαν στην Αστόρια της Νέας Υόρκης για την κοπή της βασιλόπιτας. Το φλουρί βρέθηκε στο κομμάτι που αναλογούσε στο ίδρυμα.
Με αυτόν το καλό οιωνό, το H.R.F. και το ΕΛΕΘΣΥ προσβλέπουν σε μια ακόμη σημαντική χρονιά, στηρίζοντας άτομα που έχουν ανάγκη στην Ελλάδα.
